4. Galle Fort is Sri Lanka’s third largest city and is a World Heritage Site about 30-40 min from Hikkaduwa. We recommend to go in the afternoon because it is cooler. Very beautiful and nice to walk around the Galle Fort area discovered by the Portuguese in early 16th century. You can see different cultural buildings, restaurants and even shopping. On the way back to Hikkaduwa you will visit a silk producer.
